A picture of how many districts in each division are good to visit in each month. The number is written in every cell — colour is only a hint.
| Division | Jan | Feb | Mar | Apr | May | Jun | Jul | Aug | Sep | Oct | Nov | Dec |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Barishal | 4/6 | 4/6 | 0/6 | 0/6 | 0/6 | 0/6 | 2/6 | 2/6 | 3/6 | 3/6 | 6/6 |
Each number is how many of that division's districts (those with a written guide) name this month as a good time.
Districts whose guide hasn't been written yet aren't counted in this calendar.
Monsoon is ending and skies are clearing. Cyclones remain possible in October–November.

A natural tunnel-cave inside Alutila hill a few kilometres from town, known locally as Matai Hakor. It is completely dark inside with water running along the floor, so you walk through over rocks with a torch. The hilltop also looks out over Khagrachhari town.

A ten-domed mosque built in 1523–24 under Sultan Nusrat Shah, famous for its terracotta ornament. A large tank and a shrine sit beside it, surrounded by Bagha's mango orchards.
A hillock above the Jadukata river in Tahirpur, looking down on sandbanks and clear water with the Meghalaya hills behind. Best in the late-afternoon light.

Excavated foundations of a Buddhist monastery a few kilometres west of Mahasthangarh. Far quieter than Mahasthan, and reached along village roads.

A spread of pale stones where the Dhalai river enters Bangladesh in Companiganj upazila, with the Meghalaya hills behind. In the monsoon, cold clear water runs over the stones.

White, pink and yellowish hillocks at Bijoypur, Durgapur, left by China-clay mining, with pools of blue-green water in between. Strange and striking to look at, but it is a mining area.

A natural lake high in the hills of Ruma upazila, beside a Bawm village. Many trekkers heading to Keokradong stop here overnight.
A paved point jutting into the river at the west end of town, facing the meeting of the Padma, Meghna and Dakatia. The Liberation War memorial 'Raktadhara' is close by. Locals crowd here in the late afternoon.

An old college in Rangpur city, a recognisable landmark for its colonial-era buildings and wide grounds. Pleasant to walk around.
A large wetland in Kalia upazila. In the monsoon and autumn boats drift across wide water; in winter, as it shrinks, birds and fishing scenes take over.
One of the country's largest wetlands, spread across Natore, Sirajganj and Pabna, with the biggest share in Natore. In the monsoon it becomes open water you can explore by boat; as it drains in winter, it's about fishing and birds.

A three-domed mosque near Chatmohar bazar, built in 1582 under the patronage of Masum Khan Kabuli — one of the earliest surviving Mughal-period buildings in Bengal.
