A natural tunnel-cave inside Alutila hill a few kilometres from town, known locally as Matai Hakor. It is completely dark inside with water running along the floor, so you walk through over rocks with a torch. The hilltop also looks out over Khagrachhari town.

A ten-domed mosque built in 1523–24 under Sultan Nusrat Shah, famous for its terracotta ornament. A large tank and a shrine sit beside it, surrounded by Bagha's mango orchards.

Excavated foundations of a Buddhist monastery a few kilometres west of Mahasthangarh. Far quieter than Mahasthan, and reached along village roads.

Off the crowded path

A late 19th-century house with iron-sheet walls, known locally as the 'iron house'. It now stands in the grounds of the Teachers' Training College and can be seen from outside.

A national park, declared in 2011, around a huge old tank beside sal forest in Dhamoirhat. Migratory birds visit the water in winter, and there are walking paths through the woods.

A quiet 18th-century church in Armanitola, ringed by the graves of Armenian merchants — a breather in the middle of Old Dhaka's bustle.
Planning
We order nearby places so you don't backtrack, give a day-by-day outline, show an estimated cost per person and a packing list that fits the terrain. You can ask AI for a first draft too — but the final call is yours.

Pilgrims bathe in the sea and greet the sunrise at Dublar Char in the Sundarbans. The island lies inside the reserve forest, so you need Forest Department permission and a registered boat; rules can change from year to year.
